²⁵He chose to be mistreated^(A) along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin.

²⁷By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.

²⁷By faith he left Egypt,^(A) not fearing the king’s anger; he persevered because he saw him who is invisible.
