Therefore, (A)when He comes into the world, He says,

(B)You have not desired sacrifice and offering,
But (C)You have prepared a body for Me;
(D)You have not taken pleasure in whole burnt offerings and offerings for sin.
(E)Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come
(It is written of Me in (F)the scroll of the book)
To do Your will, O God.’”

After saying above, “(G)Sacrifices and offerings and (H)whole burnt offerings and offerings (I)for sin You have not desired, nor have You taken pleasure in them” (which are offered according to the Law), then He [a]said, “(J)Behold, I have come to do Your will.” He takes away the first in order to establish the second. 10 By [b]this will, we have been (K)sanctified through (L)the offering of (M)the body of Jesus Christ (N)once for all time.

11 Every priest stands daily ministering and (O)offering time after time the same sacrifices, which (P)can never take away sins; 12 but He, having offered one sacrifice (Q)for [c]sins (R)for all time, (S)sat down at the right hand of God, 13 waiting from that time onward (T)until His enemies are made a footstool for His feet. 14 For by one offering He has (U)perfected (V)for all time those who are [d]sanctified. 15 And (W)the Holy Spirit also testifies to us; for after saying,

16 (X)This is the covenant which I will make with them
After those days, declares the Lord:
I will put My laws upon their hearts,
And write them on their mind,”

He then says,

17 (Y)And their sins and their lawless deeds
I will no longer remember.”

18 Now where there is forgiveness of these things, an offering for sin is no longer required.

A New and Living Way

19 Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we (Z)have confidence to (AA)enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by (AB)a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through (AC)the veil, that is, through His flesh, 21 and since we have (AD)a great priest (AE)over the house of God, 22 let’s (AF)approach God with a [e]sincere heart in (AG)full assurance of faith, having our hearts (AH)sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies (AI)washed with pure water. 23 Let’s hold firmly to the (AJ)confession of our (AK)hope without wavering, for (AL)He who promised is faithful; 24 and let’s consider how (AM)to [f]encourage one another in love and (AN)good deeds, 25 not abandoning our own (AO)meeting together, as is the habit of some people, but (AP)encouraging one another; and all the more as you see (AQ)the day drawing near.

Therefore, when Christ came into the world,(A) he said:

“Sacrifice and offering you did not desire,
but a body you prepared for me;(B)
with burnt offerings and sin offerings
    you were not pleased.
Then I said, ‘Here I am—it is written about me in the scroll(C)
I have come to do your will, my God.’”[a](D)

First he said, “Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them”(E)—though they were offered in accordance with the law. Then he said, “Here I am, I have come to do your will.”(F) He sets aside the first to establish the second. 10 And by that will, we have been made holy(G) through the sacrifice of the body(H) of Jesus Christ once for all.(I)

11 Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices,(J) which can never take away sins.(K) 12 But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins,(L) he sat down at the right hand of God,(M) 13 and since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool.(N) 14 For by one sacrifice he has made perfect(O) forever those who are being made holy.(P)

15 The Holy Spirit also testifies(Q) to us about this. First he says:

16 “This is the covenant I will make with them
after that time, says the Lord.
I will put my laws in their hearts,
and I will write them on their minds.”[b](R)

17 Then he adds:

“Their sins and lawless acts
    I will remember no more.”[c](S)

18 And where these have been forgiven, sacrifice for sin is no longer necessary.

A Call to Persevere in Faith

19 Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence(T) to enter the Most Holy Place(U) by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way(V) opened for us through the curtain,(W) that is, his body, 21 and since we have a great priest(X) over the house of God,(Y) 22 let us draw near to God(Z) with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings,(AA) having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience(AB) and having our bodies washed with pure water.(AC) 23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope(AD) we profess,(AE) for he who promised is faithful.(AF) 24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds,(AG) 25 not giving up meeting together,(AH) as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another(AI)—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.(AJ)
