Hebrews 12:8-10
Legacy Standard Bible
8 But if you are without discipline, (A)of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. 9 Furthermore, we [a]had [b]earthly fathers to discipline us, and we (B)respected them. Shall we not much rather be subject to (C)the Father of [c]spirits, and (D)live? 10 For they disciplined us for a short time as seemed best to them, but He disciplines us for our benefit, (E)so that we may share His holiness.

Hebrews 12:8-10
New International Version
8 If you are not disciplined—and everyone undergoes discipline(A)—then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all. 9 Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of spirits(B) and live!(C) 10 They disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share in his holiness.(D)
