16 For He surely does not take-hold-of [a] angels, but He takes hold of the seed of Abraham.
He Had To Become Like Us In All Things In Order To Become a Merciful High Priest
17 Hence, He had-to become-like His brothers in all things in order that He might become a merciful and faithful High Priest in the things pertaining to God, so as to make-an-offering-for-satisfaction[b] [of God’s wrath] as to the sins of the people. 18 For having Himself [c] been tempted[d] in what He has suffered, He is able to help the ones being tempted.

16 For surely it is not angels he helps, but Abraham’s descendants.(A) 17 For this reason he had to be made like them,[a](B) fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful(C) and faithful high priest(D) in service to God,(E) and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people.(F) 18 Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.(G)
