Hosea 10:6-8

6 The thing itself will be carried to (A)Assyria
As tribute to [a](B)King Jareb;
Ephraim will [b]be (C)seized with shame
And Israel will be ashamed of its (D)own counsel.
7 Samaria will be (E)cut off with her king
Like a stick on the surface of the water.
8 Also the (F)high places of Aven, the (G)sin of Israel, will be destroyed;
(H)Thorn and thistle will grow on their altars;
Then they will (I)say to the mountains,
“Cover us!” And to the hills, “Fall on us!”

Ephraim will be disgraced;(D)
Israel will be ashamed(E) of its foreign alliances.
7 Samaria’s king will be destroyed,(F)
swept away like a twig on the surface of the waters.
8 The high places(G) of wickedness[a](H) will be destroyed—
it is the sin of Israel.
Thorns(I) and thistles will grow up
and cover their altars.(J)
Then they will say to the mountains, “Cover us!”(K)
and to the hills, “Fall on us!”(L)
