Hosea 14:2-9
Tree of Life Version
2 Return O Israel, to Adonai your God,
for you have stumbled in your iniquity.
3 Take words with you and return to Adonai.
Say to Him: “Take away all iniquity,
and accept what is good,
so we may repay with offerings[a] of our lips:
4 ‘Assyria will not save us.
We will not ride on horses,
and we will never again say, “Our god,”
to the work of our hands,
for with You, orphans find mercy.’”
5 “I will heal their backsliding,
I will love them freely,
for My anger will turn away from him.
6 I will be like dew for Israel.
He will blossom like a lily,
and thrust out his roots like Lebanon.
7 His tender shoots will spread out.
His beauty will be like an olive tree
and his fragrance will be like Lebanon.
8 Those dwelling in his shadow will return.
They will grow grain and bud like a vine.
His renown will be like the wine of Lebanon.
9 Ephraim: “What more are idols to me?
I have responded and observed Him.
I will be like a luxuriant cypress tree.
From me will be found Your fruit.”

Tree of Life Version
11 Adonai utters His voice before His army.
For His camp is very vast—
for mighty is it that carries out His word.
For great is the day of Adonai—[a] very terrifying!
Who can endure it?
Call for Teshuvah
12 “Yet even now”
—it is a declaration of Adonai—
“turn to Me with all your heart,
with fasting, weeping and lamenting.”
13 Rend your heart, not your garments,
and turn to Adonai, your God.
For He is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger, abundant in mercy,
and relenting about the calamity due.
14 Who knows? He may turn and relent,
and may leave a blessing behind Him
—so there may be a grain offering
and a drink offering for Adonai, your God.
Blow the Shofar
15 Blow the shofar in Zion!
Sanctify a fast;
proclaim an assembly.
16 Gather the people;
sanctify the congregation;
assemble the elders;
gather the children,
even those nursing at breasts.
Let the bridegroom come out from his bedroom
and the bride from her chamber.
17 Between the porch and the altar
let the kohanim, ministers of Adonai,
weep, and let them say:
“Have pity, Adonai, on Your people.
Don’t make Your heritage a scorn,
a byword among the nations.
Why should the peoples say,
‘Where is their God?’”[b]
18 Adonai will be zealous for His land,
and have compassion on His people.
19 Adonai will answer and say to His people:
“Behold, I will send you the grain,
the new wine, and the fresh oil,
and you will be satisfied with it.
I will no longer make you a mockery among the nations.
20 “But I will remove the northern invader far from you—
yes, I will banish him to a dry and desolate land—
his vanguard into the Eastern Sea
and his rearguard into the Western Sea.
His odor will go up—
Yes, his stench will rise.”
For He[c] has done great things!
Rain and Restoration
21 Do not fear, O land. Be glad! Rejoice!
For Adonai has done great things.
22 Do not be afraid, beasts of the field,
for the desert pastures have sprouted,
for the tree bears its fruit.
Fig tree and vine yield their strength.
23 So be glad, children of Zion,
and rejoice in Adonai, your God.
For He gives you the early rain[d] for prosperity,
Yes, He will bring down rain for you,
the early and latter rain as before.
24 The threshing floors will be full of grain
and the vats will overflow with new wine and fresh oil.
25 “I shall restore to you the years
that the locust, the swarming locust,
the canker-worm and the caterpillar have eaten—
My great army that I sent among you.”
26 “You will surely eat and be satisfied,
and praise the Name of Adonai your God,
who has dealt wondrously with you.
Never again will My people be shamed
27 You will know that I am within Israel.
Yes, I am Adonai your God—there is no other—
Never again will My people be shamed.”

He Will Again Have Compassion
18 Who is a God like You
pardoning iniquity, overlooking transgression,
for the remnant of His heritage?
He will not retain His anger forever,
because He delights in mercy.
19 He will again have compassion on us.
He will subdue our iniquities,
and You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.
20 You will extend truth to Jacob,
mercy to Abraham,
that You swore to our ancestors
from the days of old.

Isaiah 55:6-56:8
Tree of Life Version
6 Seek Adonai while He may be found,
call on Him while He is near.[a]
7 Let the wicked forsake his way,
and the unrighteous one his thoughts,
let him return to Adonai, so He may have compassion on him,
and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.
8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
nor are your ways My ways.”
It is a declaration of Adonai.
9 “For as the heavens are higher than earth,
so are My ways higher than your ways,
and My thoughts than your thoughts.
10 For as the rain and snow
come down from heaven,
and do not return there
without having watered the earth,
making it bring forth and sprout,
giving seed to sow and bread to eat,
11 so My word will be that goes out from My mouth.
It will not return to Me in vain,
but will accomplish what I intend,
and will succeed in what I sent it for.
12 “Yes, you will go out with joy
and be led forth with peace.
The mountains and the hills
will break forth before you singing,
and all the trees of the field
will clap their hands!
13 Instead of the thorn bush, a cypress will come up,
and instead of the brier, a myrtle will come up,
and it will be a memorial to Adonai,
as an everlasting sign
that will never be cut off.”
Foreigners Keeping Shabbat
56 Thus says Adonai:
“Preserve justice,
do righteousness.
For My salvation is about to come,
and My righteousness to be revealed.
2 Blessed is the one who does this,
the son of man who takes hold of it,
who keeps from profaning Shabbat,
and keeps his hand from doing any evil.
3 Do not let a son of a foreigner who has joined himself to Adonai[b] say,
‘Adonai will surely exclude me from His people.”
Nor let the eunuch say,
‘Behold, I am a dry tree.’”
4 For thus says Adonai,
“To the eunuchs who keep My Shabbatot,
who choose what pleases Me,
and hold fast My covenant:
5 I will give to them in My House and within My walls
a memorial and a name[c]
better than sons and daughters.
I will give them an everlasting name
that will not be cut off.
6 Also the foreigners who join themselves to Adonai, to minister to Him,
and to love the Name of Adonai,
and to be His servants—
all who keep from profaning Shabbat,
and hold fast to My covenant—
7 these I will bring to My holy mountain,
and let them rejoice in My House of Prayer.
Their burnt offerings and sacrifices
will be acceptable on My altar.
For My House will be called
a House of Prayer for all nations.”[d]
8 Adonai Elohim,
who gathers the dispersed of Israel, declares,
“I will gather still others to him,
to those already gathered.”

Isaiah 55:6-56:8
New International Version
6 Seek(A) the Lord while he may be found;(B)
call(C) on him while he is near.
7 Let the wicked forsake(D) their ways
and the unrighteous their thoughts.(E)
Let them turn(F) to the Lord, and he will have mercy(G) on them,
and to our God, for he will freely pardon.(H)
8 “For my thoughts(I) are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”(J)
declares the Lord.
9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth,(K)
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.(L)
10 As the rain(M) and the snow
come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,(N)
so that it yields seed(O) for the sower and bread for the eater,(P)
11 so is my word(Q) that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,(R)
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose(S) for which I sent it.
12 You will go out in joy(T)
and be led forth in peace;(U)
the mountains and hills
will burst into song(V) before you,
and all the trees(W) of the field
will clap their hands.(X)
13 Instead of the thornbush will grow the juniper,
and instead of briers(Y) the myrtle(Z) will grow.
This will be for the Lord’s renown,(AA)
for an everlasting sign,
that will endure forever.”
Salvation for Others
56 This is what the Lord says:
“Maintain justice(AB)
and do what is right,(AC)
for my salvation(AD) is close at hand
and my righteousness(AE) will soon be revealed.
2 Blessed(AF) is the one who does this—
the person who holds it fast,
who keeps the Sabbath(AG) without desecrating it,
and keeps their hands from doing any evil.”
3 Let no foreigner(AH) who is bound to the Lord say,
“The Lord will surely exclude me from his people.”(AI)
And let no eunuch(AJ) complain,
“I am only a dry tree.”
4 For this is what the Lord says:
“To the eunuchs(AK) who keep my Sabbaths,
who choose what pleases me
and hold fast to my covenant(AL)—
5 to them I will give within my temple and its walls(AM)
a memorial(AN) and a name
better than sons and daughters;
I will give them an everlasting name(AO)
that will endure forever.(AP)
6 And foreigners(AQ) who bind themselves to the Lord
to minister(AR) to him,
to love the name(AS) of the Lord,
and to be his servants,
all who keep the Sabbath(AT) without desecrating it
and who hold fast to my covenant—
7 these I will bring to my holy mountain(AU)
and give them joy in my house of prayer.
Their burnt offerings and sacrifices(AV)
will be accepted on my altar;
for my house will be called
a house of prayer for all nations.(AW)”(AX)
8 The Sovereign Lord declares—
he who gathers the exiles of Israel:
“I will gather(AY) still others to them
besides those already gathered.”
