What will ye do in the day of solemn assembly, and in the day of the feast of Jehovah? For, lo, they are gone away from destruction; yet Egypt shall gather them up, Memphis shall bury them; their pleasant things of silver, nettles shall possess them; thorns shall be in their tents. The days of visitation are come, the days of recompense are come; Israel shall know it: the prophet is a fool, the man that hath the spirit is mad, for the abundance of thine iniquity, and because the enmity is great.

    on the feast days of the Lord?
Even if they escape from destruction,
    Egypt will gather them,(C)
    and Memphis(D) will bury them.(E)
Their treasures of silver(F) will be taken over by briers,
    and thorns(G) will overrun their tents.
The days of punishment(H) are coming,
    the days of reckoning(I) are at hand.
    Let Israel know this.
Because your sins(J) are so many
    and your hostility so great,
the prophet is considered a fool,(K)
    the inspired person a maniac.(L)
