New International Version
14 For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died.(A) 15 And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves(B) but for him who died for them(C) and was raised again.
16 So from now on we regard no one from a worldly(D) point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ,(E) the new creation(F) has come:[a] The old has gone, the new is here!(G) 18 All this is from God,(H) who reconciled us to himself through Christ(I) and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them.(J) And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors,(K) as though God were making his appeal through us.(L) We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.(M) 21 God made him who had no sin(N) to be sin[b] for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.(O)
6 As God’s co-workers(P) we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain.(Q) 2 For he says,
I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.
Paul’s Hardships
3 We put no stumbling block in anyone’s path,(S) so that our ministry will not be discredited. 4 Rather, as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses; 5 in beatings, imprisonments(T) and riots; in hard work, sleepless nights and hunger;(U) 6 in purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit(V) and in sincere love;(W) 7 in truthful speech(X) and in the power of God;(Y) with weapons of righteousness(Z) in the right hand and in the left; 8 through glory and dishonor,(AA) bad report(AB) and good report; genuine, yet regarded as impostors;(AC) 9 known, yet regarded as unknown; dying,(AD) and yet we live on;(AE) beaten, and yet not killed; 10 sorrowful, yet always rejoicing;(AF) poor, yet making many rich;(AG) having nothing,(AH) and yet possessing everything.(AI)
11 We have spoken freely to you, Corinthians, and opened wide our hearts to you.(AJ) 12 We are not withholding our affection from you, but you are withholding yours from us. 13 As a fair exchange—I speak as to my children(AK)—open wide your hearts(AL) also.
Warning Against Idolatry
14 Do not be yoked together(AM) with unbelievers.(AN) For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?(AO) 15 What harmony is there between Christ and Belial[d]?(AP) Or what does a believer(AQ) have in common with an unbeliever?(AR) 16 What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols?(AS) For we are the temple(AT) of the living God.(AU) As God has said:
“I will live with them
and walk among them,
and I will be their God,
and they will be my people.”[e](AV)
17 Therefore,
“Come out from them(AW)
and be separate,
says the Lord.
Touch no unclean thing,
and I will receive you.”[f](AX)
18 And,
“I will be a Father to you,
and you will be my sons and daughters,(AY)
says the Lord Almighty.”[g](AZ)
7 Therefore, since we have these promises,(BA) dear friends,(BB) let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness(BC) out of reverence for God.

14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:
15 And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
6 We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.
2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)
3 Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed:
4 But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses,
5 In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings;
6 By pureness, by knowledge, by long suffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned,
7 By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,
8 By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true;
9 As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and, behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed;
10 As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.
11 O ye Corinthians, our mouth is open unto you, our heart is enlarged.
12 Ye are not straitened in us, but ye are straitened in your own bowels.
13 Now for a recompence in the same, (I speak as unto my children,) be ye also enlarged.
14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
7 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
