But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

12 Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth.

13 Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance;

14 Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me.

15 Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance.

But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind,(A) forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins.(B)

10 Therefore, my brothers and sisters,[a] make every effort to confirm your calling(C) and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble,(D) 11 and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom(E) of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.(F)

Prophecy of Scripture

12 So I will always remind you of these things,(G) even though you know them and are firmly established in the truth(H) you now have. 13 I think it is right to refresh your memory(I) as long as I live in the tent of this body,(J) 14 because I know that I will soon put it aside,(K) as our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me.(L) 15 And I will make every effort to see that after my departure(M) you will always be able to remember these things.
