⁸^(A)For the Lord has a day of vengeance,
a year of recompense for the cause of Zion.

Isaiah 34:8

New International Version

⁸For the Lord has a day^(A) of vengeance,^(B)
a year of retribution,^(C) to uphold Zion’s cause.

⁹^(A)And the streams of Edom^[a] shall be turned into pitch,
and her soil into sulfur;
her land shall become burning pitch.

⁹Edom’s streams will be turned into pitch,
her dust into burning sulfur;^(A)
her land will become blazing pitch!
