⁵ The Sovereign Lord^(A) has opened my ears;^(B)
    I have not been rebellious,^(C)
    I have not turned away.
⁶ I offered my back to those who beat^(D) me,
    my cheeks to those who pulled out my beard;^(E)
I did not hide my face
    from mocking and spitting.^(F)
7 Because the Sovereign Lord^(G) helps^(H) me,
    I will not be disgraced.
Therefore have I set my face like flint,^(I)
    and I know I will not be put to shame.^(J)
8 He who vindicates^(K) me is near.^(L)
    Who then will bring charges against me?^(M)
    Let us face each other!^(N)
Who is my accuser?
    Let him confront me!
⁹ It is the Sovereign Lord^(O) who helps^(P) me.
    Who will condemn^(Q) me?
They will all wear out like a garment;
    the moths^(R) will eat them up.

¹⁰ Who among you fears^(S) the Lord
    and obeys^(T) the word of his servant?^(U)
Let the one who walks in the dark,
    who has no light,^(V)
trust^(W) in the name of the Lord
    and rely on their God.
