16 So the Lord, the Lord of All, will send a wasting disease among the strong Assyrian soldiers. Under the king’s greatness a fire will be started that will burn and burn. 17 The light of Israel and his Holy One will become a fire. And it will burn and destroy his thorns and thistles in one day. 18 The Lord will destroy the greatness of the trees and the fields that give much fruit, both soul and body. It will be as when a sick man wastes away.

New International Version
16 Therefore, the Lord, the Lord Almighty,
will send a wasting disease(A) upon his sturdy warriors;(B)
under his pomp(C) a fire(D) will be kindled
like a blazing flame.
17 The Light of Israel will become a fire,(E)
their Holy One(F) a flame;
in a single day it will burn and consume
his thorns(G) and his briers.(H)
18 The splendor of his forests(I) and fertile fields
it will completely destroy,(J)
as when a sick person wastes away.
