Isaiah 26:19-21
International Children’s Bible
19 Your people have died, but they will live again.
Their bodies will rise from death.
Dead people in the ground,
get up and be happy!
The dew covering you is like the dew of a new day.
The ground will give birth to the dead buried in it.
Judgment: Reward or Punishment
20 My people, go into your rooms.
Shut your doors behind you.
Hide in your rooms for a short time.
Hide until God’s anger is finished.
21 The Lord will leave his place.
He will punish the people of the world for their sins.
The earth will show the blood of the people who have been killed.
It will not cover the dead any longer.
Isaiah 26:19-21
New International Version
19 But your dead(A) will live, Lord;
their bodies will rise—
let those who dwell in the dust(B)
wake up and shout for joy—
your dew(C) is like the dew of the morning;
the earth will give birth to her dead.(D)
20 Go, my people, enter your rooms
and shut the doors(E) behind you;
hide(F) yourselves for a little while
until his wrath(G) has passed by.(H)
21 See, the Lord is coming(I) out of his dwelling(J)
to punish(K) the people of the earth for their sins.
The earth will disclose the blood(L) shed on it;
the earth will conceal its slain no longer.
