¹¹ For my own sake, for my own sake, I do it,
    for why should my name^[a] be profaned?
    My glory I will not give to another.^(A)

³⁸ Yet he, being compassionate,
    forgave their iniquity
    and did not destroy them;
often he restrained his anger
    and did not stir up all his wrath.^(A)

¹⁸ Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you;
    therefore he will rise up to show mercy to you.
For the Lord is a God of justice;
    blessed are all those who wait for him.^(A)
