8 “From detention and[a] judgment he was taken away[b]—
and who can even think about his descendants?[c]
For he was cut off from the land of the living,
he was stricken[d] for the transgression of my people.
9 Then they made[e] his grave with the wicked,
and with rich people[f] in his death,[g]
although he had committed no violence,
nor was there any deceit in his mouth.”

10 “Yet the Lord was willing to crush him,
and he made him suffer.[h]
Although you make his soul an offering for sin,
he[i] will see his offspring,
and[j] he will prolong his days,
and the will of the Lord will triumph in his hand.

8 By oppression[a] and judgment(A) he was taken away.
Yet who of his generation protested?
For he was cut off from the land of the living;(B)
for the transgression(C) of my people he was punished.[b]
9 He was assigned a grave with the wicked,(D)
and with the rich(E) in his death,
though he had done no violence,(F)
nor was any deceit in his mouth.(G)
