11 Then I said, (A)“How long, O Lord?”
And he said:
“Until (B)cities lie waste
without inhabitant,
and houses without people,
and the land is a desolate waste,
12 and the Lord removes people far away,
and the forsaken places are many in the midst of the land.
13 (C)And though a tenth remain in it,
it will be burned[a] again,
like a terebinth or an oak,
whose stump (D)remains
when it is felled.”
(E)The holy seed[b] is its stump.

until the houses are left deserted(C)
and the fields ruined and ravaged,(D)
12 until the Lord has sent everyone far away(E)
and the land is utterly forsaken.(F)
13 And though a tenth remains(G) in the land,
it will again be laid waste.(H)
But as the terebinth and oak
leave stumps(I) when they are cut down,
so the holy(J) seed will be the stump in the land.”(K)
