¹⁵This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.

¹⁵Such “wisdom” does not come down from heaven^(A) but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic.^(B)

¹⁸Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

¹⁸He chose to give us birth^(A) through the word of truth,^(B) that we might be a kind of firstfruits^(C) of all he created.
