James 2:2-4
New Matthew Bible
2 If there comes into your company a man with a golden ring and in goodly apparel, and there comes in also a poor man in wretched clothing, 3 and you have a respect to him who wears the fine clothing, and say to him, Sit here in a good place, but say to the poor, Stand there, or, Sit here by my footstool, 4 are you not partial among yourselves, and have judged after evil thoughts?

2 Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in filthy old clothes also comes in. 3 If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, “Here’s a good seat for you,” but say to the poor man, “You stand there” or “Sit on the floor by my feet,” 4 have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges(A) with evil thoughts?
