⁶But ^(A)he gives more grace. Therefore it says, ^(B)“God opposes the proud but ^(C)gives grace to the humble.”

⁶But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says:

“God opposes the proud
but shows favor to the humble.”^[a]^(A)

³⁴Toward the ^(A)scorners he ^(B)is scornful,
^(C)but to the humble he gives favor.^[a]

³⁴He mocks^(A) proud mockers^(B)
but shows favor to the humble^(C) and oppressed.
