15 What right has My loved one to be in My house when she has done many sinful acts? Can animals killed on My altar take your trouble away from you?     as she, with many others, works out her evil schemes?
    Can consecrated meat(A) avert your punishment?(B)
When you engage in your wickedness,
    then you rejoice.[a]

16 The Lord called you a thriving olive tree(C)
    with fruit beautiful in form.
But with the roar of a mighty storm
    he will set it on fire,(D)
    and its branches will be broken.(E)

17 The Lord Almighty, who planted(F) you, has decreed disaster(G) for you, because the people of both Israel and Judah have done evil and aroused(H) my anger by burning incense to Baal.(I)
