Jeremiah 2:11-13

11 Hath any nation changed their gods, which yet are no gods? but my people have changed their [a]glory, for that which doth not [b]profit.
12 O ye [c]heavens, be astonied at this: be afraid and utterly confounded, saith the Lord.
13 For my people have committed two evils: they have forsaken me [d]the fountain of living waters, to dig them pits, even broken pits that can hold no water.

11 Has a nation ever changed its gods?
(Yet they are not gods(A) at all.)
But my people have exchanged their glorious(B) God
for worthless idols.
12 Be appalled at this, you heavens,
and shudder with great horror,”
declares the Lord.
13 “My people have committed two sins:
They have forsaken(C) me,
the spring of living water,(D)
and have dug their own cisterns,
broken cisterns that cannot hold water.
