13 “For My people have done two sinful things: They have turned away from Me, the well of living waters. And they have cut out of the rock wells for water for themselves. They are broken wells that cannot hold water.

14 “Is Israel a servant? Is he born as a servant? Why can he be taken away? 15 The young lions have made noise against him. They have made a loud noise. And they have made his land a waste. His cities have been destroyed, and have no people.

the spring of living water,(B)
and have dug their own cisterns,
broken cisterns that cannot hold water.
14 Is Israel a servant, a slave(C) by birth?
Why then has he become plunder?
15 Lions(D) have roared;
they have growled at him.
They have laid waste(E) his land;
his towns are burned(F) and deserted.(G)
