Jeremiah 4:7
New King James Version
7 (A)The lion has come up from his thicket,
And (B)the destroyer of nations is on his way.
He has gone forth from his place
(C)To make your land desolate.
Your cities will be laid waste,
Without inhabitant.
Ezekiel 19:2-6
New King James Version
2 and say:
‘What is your mother? A lioness:
She lay down among the lions;
Among the young lions she nourished her cubs.
3 She brought up one of her cubs,
And (A)he became a young lion;
He learned to catch prey,
And he devoured men.
4 The nations also heard of him;
He was trapped in their pit,
And they brought him with chains to the land of (B)Egypt.
5 ‘When she saw that she waited, that her hope was lost,
She took (C)another of her cubs and made him a young lion.
6 (D)He roved among the lions,
And (E)became a young lion;
He learned to catch prey;
He devoured men.
Nahum 2:11-13
New King James Version
11 Where is the dwelling of the (A)lions,
And the feeding place of the young lions,
Where the lion walked, the lioness and lion’s cub,
And no one made them afraid?
12 The lion tore in pieces enough for his cubs,
[a]Killed for his lionesses,
(B)Filled his caves with prey,
And his dens with [b]flesh.
13 “Behold, (C)I am against you,” says the Lord of hosts, “I will burn [c]your chariots in smoke, and the sword shall devour your young lions; I will cut off your prey from the earth, and the voice of your (D)messengers shall be heard no more.”
