15 then hear the word of the Lord, O remnant of Judah. Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: If you are determined to enter Egypt and go to settle there,(A) 16 then the sword that you fear shall overtake you there, in the land of Egypt, and the famine that you dread shall follow close after you into Egypt, and there you shall die. 17 All the people who have determined to go to Egypt to settle there shall die by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence; they shall have no remnant or survivor from the disaster that I am bringing upon them.(B)
18 “For thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Just as my anger and my wrath were poured out on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so my wrath will be poured out on you when you go to Egypt. You shall become an object of execration and horror, of cursing and ridicule. You shall see this place no more.(C)

15 then hear the word of the Lord,(A) you remnant of Judah. This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: ‘If you are determined to go to Egypt and you do go to settle there, 16 then the sword(B) you fear(C) will overtake you there, and the famine(D) you dread will follow you into Egypt, and there you will die.(E) 17 Indeed, all who are determined to go to Egypt to settle there will die by the sword, famine and plague;(F) not one of them will survive or escape the disaster I will bring on them.’ 18 This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: ‘As my anger and wrath(G) have been poured out on those who lived in Jerusalem,(H) so will my wrath be poured out on you when you go to Egypt. You will be a curse[a](I) and an object of horror,(J) a curse[b] and an object of reproach;(K) you will never see this place again.’(L)
