Jeremiah 5:2

²Although they say, ‘As surely as the Lord lives,’^(A)
still they are swearing falsely.^(B)”

²And though they say, The Lord liveth; surely they swear falsely.

²You have planted^(A) them, and they have taken root;
they grow and bear fruit.^(B)
You are always on their lips
but far from their hearts.^(C)

²Thou hast planted them, yea, they have taken root: they grow, yea, they bring forth fruit: thou art near in their mouth, and far from their reins.

⁴Whoever says, “I know him,”^(A) but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person.^(B)

⁴He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
