36 A sword is upon the [a]boasters, and they shall become fools; a sword is upon her mighty men, and they shall be dismayed. 37 A sword is upon their horses, and upon their chariots, and upon all the mingled people that are in the midst of her; and they shall become as women: a sword is upon her treasures, and they shall be robbed. 38 A drought is upon her waters, and they shall be dried up; for it is a land of graven images, and they are mad over [b]idols.

They will become fools.
A sword against her warriors!(A)
They will be filled with terror.(B)
37 A sword against her horses and chariots(C)
and all the foreigners in her ranks!
They will become weaklings.(D)
A sword against her treasures!(E)
They will be plundered.
38 A drought on[a] her waters!(F)
They will dry(G) up.
For it is a land of idols,(H)
idols that will go mad with terror.
