Job 39:14-17
New American Standard Bible
14 For she abandons her eggs to the earth
And warms them in the dust,
15 And she forgets that a foot may crush [a]them,
Or that a wild animal may trample [b]them.
16 She treats her young (A)cruelly, as if they were not hers;
Though her labor is for nothing, she is [c]unconcerned,
17 Because God has made her forget wisdom,
And has not given her a share of understanding.
Job 39:14-17
New International Version
14 She lays her eggs on the ground
and lets them warm in the sand,
15 unmindful that a foot may crush them,
that some wild animal may trample them.(A)
16 She treats her young harshly,(B) as if they were not hers;
she cares not that her labor was in vain,
17 for God did not endow her with wisdom
or give her a share of good sense.(C)
Lamentations 4:3
New American Standard Bible
3 Even (A)jackals offer the breast,
They nurse their young;
But the daughter of my people has proved herself (B)cruel,
Like (C)ostriches in the wilderness.
Lamentations 4:3
New International Version
3 Even jackals offer their breasts
to nurse their young,
but my people have become heartless
like ostriches in the desert.(A)
