Starvation and Drought

14 (A)Consecrate a fast,
Proclaim a (B)solemn assembly;
Gather the elders
And all the inhabitants of the land
To the house of the Lord your God,
And (C)cry out to the Lord.
15 (D)Alas for the day!
For the (E)day of the Lord is near,
And it will come as (F)destruction from the [a]Almighty.
16 Has not (G)food been cut off before our eyes,
Gladness and (H)joy from the house of our God?

    call a sacred assembly.
Summon the elders
    and all who live in the land(B)
to the house of the Lord your God,

15 Alas for that(E) day!
    For the day of the Lord(F) is near;
    it will come like destruction from the Almighty.[a](G)
