¹⁶Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.

New International Version

¹⁶Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master,^(A) nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.

²⁴The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.

²⁴“The student is not above the teacher, nor a servant above his master.^(A)

⁴⁰The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.

⁴⁰The student is not above the teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like their teacher.^(A)
