¹⁵The man departed, and told the Jews that it was Jesus, which had made him whole.

New International Version

¹⁵The man went away and told the Jewish leaders^(A) that it was Jesus who had made him well.

¹⁶And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day.

¹⁶So, because Jesus was doing these things on the Sabbath, the Jewish leaders began to persecute him.
