The Way to the Father

14 “Your heart must not be troubled.(A) Believe[a] in God;(B) believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many dwelling places;[b] if not, I would have told you. I am going away(C) to prepare a place for you. If I go away and prepare a place for you, I will come back(D) and receive you to Myself, so that where I am you may be also.(E) You know the way to where I am going.”[c](F)

“Lord,” Thomas(G) said, “we don’t know where You’re going. How can we know the way?”

Jesus told him, “I am(H) the way,(I) the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Jesus Reveals the Father

“If you know Me, you will also know[d] My Father.(J) From now on you do know Him(K) and have seen Him.”

“Lord,” said Philip,(L) “show us the Father, and that’s enough for us.”

Jesus said to him, “Have I been among you all this time without your knowing Me, Philip? The one who has seen Me has seen the Father.(M) How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me?(N) The words I speak to you I do not speak on My own.(O) The Father who lives in Me does His works.(P) 11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me. Otherwise, believe[e] because of the works themselves.(Q)

Praying in Jesus’ Name

12 “I assure you: The one who believes in Me(R) will also do the works that I do. And he will do even greater works than these,(S) because I am going to the Father.(T) 13 Whatever you ask in My name, I will do it so that the Father may be glorified(U) in the Son.(V) 14 If you ask Me[f] anything in My name,(W) I will do it.[g](X)

Another Counselor Promised

15 “If you love Me, you will keep[h] My commands.(Y) 16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor(Z) to be with you forever. 17 He is the Spirit(AA) of truth.(AB) The world is unable to receive Him because it doesn’t see Him or know Him. But you do know Him, because He remains with you and will be[i] in you.(AC) 18 I will not leave you as orphans; I am coming to you.

The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit

19 “In a little while the world will see Me no longer,(AD) but you will see Me.(AE) Because I live, you will live(AF) too. 20 In that day you will know that I am in My Father,(AG) you are in Me, and I am in you. 21 The one who has My commands and keeps them is the one who loves Me.(AH) And the one who loves Me will be loved by My Father.(AI) I also will love him and will reveal Myself to him.”

22 Judas(AJ) (not Iscariot) said to Him, “Lord, how is it You’re going to reveal Yourself to us and not to the world?”(AK)

23 Jesus answered, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word. My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.(AL) 24 The one who doesn’t love Me will not keep My words. The word that you hear is not Mine but is from the Father who sent Me.(AM)

25 “I have spoken these things to you while I remain with you. 26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit(AN)—the Father will send(AO) Him in My name—will teach you all things(AP) and remind you of everything I have told you.(AQ)

Jesus’ Gift of Peace

27 “Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Your heart must not be troubled or fearful.(AR) 28 You have heard Me tell you, ‘I am going away(AS) and I am coming to you.’ If you loved Me, you would have rejoiced that I am going to the Father,(AT) because the Father is greater than I.(AU) 29 I have told you now before it happens(AV) so that when it does happen you may believe. 30 I will not talk with you much longer, because the ruler of the world(AW) is coming. He has no power over Me.[j](AX) 31 On the contrary, I am going away[k] so that the world may know that I love the Father. Just as the Father commanded Me, so I do.

“Get up; let’s leave this place.

The Vine and the Branches

15 “I am(AY) the true vine, and My Father is the vineyard keeper. Every branch in Me that does not produce fruit He removes,(AZ) and He prunes every branch that produces fruit so that it will produce more fruit. You are already clean(BA) because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in Me, and I in you. Just as a branch is unable to produce fruit by itself unless it remains on the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in Me.(BB)

“I am the vine;(BC) you are the branches. The one who remains in Me and I in him produces much fruit,(BD) because you can do nothing without Me. If anyone does not remain in Me, he is thrown aside(BE) like a branch and he withers. They gather them, throw them into the fire,(BF) and they are burned.(BG) If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you want and it will be done for you.(BH) My Father is glorified(BI) by this: that you produce much fruit and prove to be[l] My disciples.

Christlike Love

“As the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you. Remain in My love.(BJ) 10 If you keep My commands you will remain in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commands and remain in His love.(BK)

11 “I have spoken these things to you so that My joy may be in you and your joy may be complete.(BL) 12 This is My command: Love one another as I have loved(BM) you. 13 No one has greater love than this, that someone would lay down his life(BN) for his friends. 14 You are My friends if you do what I command you. 15 I do not call you slaves anymore, because a slave doesn’t know what his master[m](BO) is doing. I have called you friends, because I have made known to you everything I have heard from My Father. 16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you.(BP) I appointed you that you should go out and produce fruit and that your fruit should remain, so that whatever you ask(BQ) the Father in My name,(BR) He will give you.(BS) 17 This is what I command you: Love one another.

Persecutions Predicted

18 “If the world hates(BT) you, understand that it hated Me before it hated you. 19 If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own. However, because you are not of the world, but I have chosen(BU) you out of it, the world hates you. 20 Remember the word I spoke to you: ‘A slave is not greater than his master.’(BV) If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word,(BW) they will also keep yours. 21 But they will do all these things to you on account of My name,(BX) because they don’t know(BY) the One who sent Me. 22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have sin.[n](BZ) Now they have no excuse for their sin. 23 The one who hates Me also hates My Father.(CA) 24 If I had not done the works(CB) among them that no one else has done,(CC) they would not have sin.(CD) Now they have seen and hated both Me and My Father. 25 But this happened so that the statement written in their scripture might be fulfilled:(CE) They hated Me for no reason.(CF)[o]

Coming Testimony and Rejection

26 “When the Counselor(CG) comes, the One I will send to you from the Father(CH)—the Spirit of truth(CI) who proceeds from the Father—He will testify about Me. 27 You also will testify,(CJ) because you have been with Me from the beginning.

16 “I have told you these things to keep you from stumbling. They will ban you from the synagogues.(CK) In fact, a time is coming when anyone who kills you will think he is offering service(CL) to God. They will do these things because they haven’t known(CM) the Father or Me. But I have told you these things so that when their time[p] comes you may remember(CN) I told them to you. I didn’t tell you these things from the beginning, because I was with you.

The Counselor’s Ministry

“But now I am going away(CO) to Him who sent Me, and not one of you asks Me, ‘Where are You going?’(CP) Yet, because I have spoken these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. Nevertheless, I am telling you the truth.(CQ) It is for your benefit that I go away, because if I don’t go away the Counselor will not come to you. If I go, I will send Him to you.(CR) When He comes, He will convict the world about sin, righteousness, and judgment: About sin, because they do not believe in Me; 10 about righteousness, because I am going to the Father(CS) and you will no longer see Me; 11 and about judgment,(CT) because the ruler of this world(CU) has been judged.(CV)

12 “I still have many things to tell you, but you can’t bear them now.(CW) 13 When the Spirit of truth(CX) comes, He will guide you into all the truth.(CY) For He will not speak on His own, but He will speak whatever He hears. He will also declare to you what is to come. 14 He will glorify Me, because He will take from what is Mine and declare it to you. 15 Everything the Father(CZ) has is Mine.(DA) This is why I told you that He takes from what is Mine and will declare it to you.(DB)

Sorrow Turned to Joy

16 “A little while(DC) and you will no longer see Me;(DD) again a little while and you will see Me.”[q]

17 Therefore some of His disciples said to one another, “What is this He tells us: ‘A little while and you will not see Me; again a little while and you will see Me’; and, ‘because I am going to the Father’(DE)?” 18 They said, “What is this He is saying,[r] ‘A little while’? We don’t know what He’s talking about!”

19 Jesus knew they wanted to question Him, so He said to them, “Are you asking one another about what I said, ‘A little while and you will not see Me; again a little while and you will see Me’?

20 “I assure you: You will weep and wail,(DF) but the world will rejoice. You will become sorrowful,(DG) but your sorrow will turn to joy. 21 When a woman is in labor she has pain(DH) because her time has come. But when she has given birth to a child,(DI) she no longer remembers the suffering because of the joy that a person has been born into the world. 22 So you also have sorrow[s] now. But I will see you again. Your hearts will rejoice,(DJ) and no one will rob you of your joy.(DK) 23 In that day you will not ask Me anything.

“I assure you: Anything you ask the Father in My name, He will give you.(DL) 24 Until now you have asked for nothing in My name.(DM) Ask and you will receive,(DN) so that your joy may be complete.(DO)

Jesus the Victor

25 “I have spoken these things to you in figures of speech. A time is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figures, but I will tell you plainly about the Father. 26 In that day you will ask(DP) in My name.(DQ) I am not telling you that I will make requests to the Father on your behalf. 27 For the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved(DR) Me and have believed that I came from God.[t](DS) 28 I came from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I am leaving the world and going to the Father.”(DT)

29 “Ah!” His disciples said. “Now You’re speaking plainly and not using any figurative language. 30 Now we know that You know everything(DU) and don’t need anyone to question You. By this we believe that You came from God.”(DV)

31 Jesus responded to them, “Do you now believe? 32 Look: An hour is coming, and has come,(DW) when each of you will be scattered to his own home, and you will leave Me alone. Yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me.(DX) 33 I have told you these things so that in Me you may have peace. You will have suffering in this world. Be courageous! I have conquered the world.”

Jesus Prays for Himself

17 Jesus spoke these things, looked up to heaven, and said:

Father,
the hour has come.
Glorify Your Son
so that the Son(DY) may glorify You,(DZ)
for You gave Him authority
over all flesh;[u](EA)
so He may give eternal life(EB)
to all You have given Him.(EC)
This is eternal life:
that they may know You, the only(ED) true(EE) God,
and the One You have sent(EF)—Jesus Christ.(EG)
I have glorified You on the earth
by completing the work You gave Me to do.
Now, Father,(EH) glorify Me in Your presence
with that glory(EI) I had with You
before the world existed.(EJ)

Jesus Prays for His Disciples

I have revealed Your name(EK)
to the men You gave Me(EL) from the world.(EM)
They were Yours, You gave them to Me,(EN)
and they have kept Your word.(EO)
Now they know that all things
You have given to Me are from You,
because the words that You gave Me,(EP)
I have given them.
They have received them
and have known for certain
that I came from You.(EQ)
They have believed that You sent Me.
I pray[v] for them.
I am not praying for the world
but for those You have given Me,(ER)
because they are Yours.
10 Everything I have is Yours,
and everything You have is Mine,(ES)
and I have been glorified in them.
11 I am no longer in the world,
but they are in the world,
and I am coming to You.(ET)
Holy(EU) Father,
protect[w] them by Your name(EV)
that You have given Me,
so that they may be one(EW) as We are(EX) one.
12 While I was with them,
I was protecting them by Your name
that You have given Me.
I guarded(EY) them and not one of them is lost,
except the son of destruction,[x]
so that the Scripture(EZ) may be fulfilled.(FA)
13 Now I am coming to You,
and I speak these things in the world
so that they may have My joy completed in them.
14 I have given them Your word.
The world hated(FB) them
because they are not of the world,(FC)
as I am not of the world.(FD)
15 I am not praying
that You take them out of the world
but that You protect them from the evil one.(FE)
16 They are not of the world,
as I am not of the world.(FF)
17 Sanctify[y](FG) them by the truth;(FH)
Your word is truth.
18 As You sent Me into the world,(FI)
I also have sent them into the world.
19 I sanctify Myself for them,
so they also may be sanctified by the truth.

Jesus Prays for All Believers

20 I pray not only for these,
but also for those who believe in Me
through their message.
21 May they all be one,(FJ)
as You, Father, are in Me and I am in You.(FK)
May they also be one[z] in Us,
so the world may believe You sent Me.
22 I have given them the glory(FL) You have given Me.
May they be one as We are one.
23 I am in them and You are in Me.(FM)
May they be made completely one,
so the world may know You have sent Me
and have loved(FN) them as You have loved Me.(FO)
24 Father,
I desire those You have given Me
to be with Me where I am.(FP)
Then they will see My glory,
which You have given Me
because You loved Me before the world’s foundation.
25 Righteous Father!
The world has not known You.
However, I have known You,(FQ)
and these have known that You sent Me.
26 I made Your name(FR) known to them
and will make it known,
so the love You have loved Me with
may be in them and I may be in them.(FS)

Jesus Comforts His Disciples

14 “Do not let your hearts be troubled.(A) You believe(B) in God[a];(C) believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there(D) to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back(E) and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.(F) You know the way to the place where I am going.”

Jesus the Way to the Father

Thomas(G) said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”

Jesus answered, “I am(H) the way(I) and the truth(J) and the life.(K) No one comes to the Father except through me.(L) If you really know me, you will know[b] my Father as well.(M) From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”

Philip(N) said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.”

Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.(O) How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me?(P) The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority.(Q) Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. 11 Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the works themselves.(R) 12 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes(S) in me will do the works I have been doing,(T) and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13 And I will do whatever you ask(U) in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit

15 “If you love me, keep my commands.(V) 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate(W) to help you and be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth.(X) The world cannot accept him,(Y) because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be[c] in you. 18 I will not leave you as orphans;(Z) I will come to you.(AA) 19 Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me.(AB) Because I live, you also will live.(AC) 20 On that day(AD) you will realize that I am in my Father,(AE) and you are in me, and I am in you.(AF) 21 Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me.(AG) The one who loves me will be loved by my Father,(AH) and I too will love them and show myself to them.”

22 Then Judas(AI) (not Judas Iscariot) said, “But, Lord, why do you intend to show yourself to us and not to the world?”(AJ)

23 Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching.(AK) My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.(AL) 24 Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.(AM)

25 “All this I have spoken while still with you. 26 But the Advocate,(AN) the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name,(AO) will teach you all things(AP) and will remind you of everything I have said to you.(AQ) 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.(AR) I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled(AS) and do not be afraid.

28 “You heard me say, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’(AT) If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father,(AU) for the Father is greater than I.(AV) 29 I have told you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe.(AW) 30 I will not say much more to you, for the prince of this world(AX) is coming. He has no hold over me, 31 but he comes so that the world may learn that I love the Father and do exactly what my Father has commanded me.(AY)

“Come now; let us leave.

The Vine and the Branches

15 “I am(AZ) the true vine,(BA) and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit,(BB) while every branch that does bear fruit(BC) he prunes[d] so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.(BD) Remain in me, as I also remain in you.(BE) No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit;(BF) apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.(BG) If you remain in me(BH) and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.(BI) This is to my Father’s glory,(BJ) that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.(BK)

“As the Father has loved me,(BL) so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands,(BM) you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.(BN) 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.(BO) 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.(BP) 14 You are my friends(BQ) if you do what I command.(BR) 15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.(BS) 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you(BT) so that you might go and bear fruit(BU)—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.(BV) 17 This is my command: Love each other.(BW)

The World Hates the Disciples

18 “If the world hates you,(BX) keep in mind that it hated me first. 19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you(BY) out of the world. That is why the world hates you.(BZ) 20 Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’[e](CA) If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also.(CB) If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. 21 They will treat you this way because of my name,(CC) for they do not know the one who sent me.(CD) 22 If I had not come and spoken to them,(CE) they would not be guilty of sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin.(CF) 23 Whoever hates me hates my Father as well. 24 If I had not done among them the works no one else did,(CG) they would not be guilty of sin.(CH) As it is, they have seen, and yet they have hated both me and my Father. 25 But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law:(CI) ‘They hated me without reason.’[f](CJ)

The Work of the Holy Spirit

26 “When the Advocate(CK) comes, whom I will send to you from the Father(CL)—the Spirit of truth(CM) who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me.(CN) 27 And you also must testify,(CO) for you have been with me from the beginning.(CP)

16 “All this(CQ) I have told you so that you will not fall away.(CR) They will put you out of the synagogue;(CS) in fact, the time is coming when anyone who kills you will think they are offering a service to God.(CT) They will do such things because they have not known the Father or me.(CU) I have told you this, so that when their time comes you will remember(CV) that I warned you about them. I did not tell you this from the beginning because I was with you,(CW) but now I am going to him who sent me.(CX) None of you asks me, ‘Where are you going?’(CY) Rather, you are filled with grief(CZ) because I have said these things. But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate(DA) will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.(DB) When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment: about sin,(DC) because people do not believe in me; 10 about righteousness,(DD) because I am going to the Father,(DE) where you can see me no longer; 11 and about judgment, because the prince of this world(DF) now stands condemned.

12 “I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear.(DG) 13 But when he, the Spirit of truth,(DH) comes, he will guide you into all the truth.(DI) He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. 14 He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. 15 All that belongs to the Father is mine.(DJ) That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.”

The Disciples’ Grief Will Turn to Joy

16 Jesus went on to say, “In a little while(DK) you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me.”(DL)

17 At this, some of his disciples said to one another, “What does he mean by saying, ‘In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me,’(DM) and ‘Because I am going to the Father’?”(DN) 18 They kept asking, “What does he mean by ‘a little while’? We don’t understand what he is saying.”

19 Jesus saw that they wanted to ask him about this, so he said to them, “Are you asking one another what I meant when I said, ‘In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me’? 20 Very truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn(DO) while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy.(DP) 21 A woman giving birth to a child has pain(DQ) because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world. 22 So with you: Now is your time of grief,(DR) but I will see you again(DS) and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.(DT) 23 In that day(DU) you will no longer ask me anything. Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.(DV) 24 Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive,(DW) and your joy will be complete.(DX)

25 “Though I have been speaking figuratively,(DY) a time is coming(DZ) when I will no longer use this kind of language but will tell you plainly about my Father. 26 In that day you will ask in my name.(EA) I am not saying that I will ask the Father on your behalf. 27 No, the Father himself loves you because you have loved me(EB) and have believed that I came from God.(EC) 28 I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.”(ED)

29 Then Jesus’ disciples said, “Now you are speaking clearly and without figures of speech.(EE) 30 Now we can see that you know all things and that you do not even need to have anyone ask you questions. This makes us believe(EF) that you came from God.”(EG)

31 “Do you now believe?” Jesus replied. 32 “A time is coming(EH) and in fact has come when you will be scattered,(EI) each to your own home. You will leave me all alone.(EJ) Yet I am not alone, for my Father is with me.(EK)

33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.(EL) In this world you will have trouble.(EM) But take heart! I have overcome(EN) the world.”

Jesus Prays to Be Glorified

17 After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven(EO) and prayed:

“Father, the hour has come.(EP) Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you.(EQ) For you granted him authority over all people(ER) that he might give eternal life(ES) to all those you have given him.(ET) Now this is eternal life: that they know you,(EU) the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.(EV) I have brought you glory(EW) on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do.(EX) And now, Father, glorify me(EY) in your presence with the glory I had with you(EZ) before the world began.(FA)

Jesus Prays for His Disciples

“I have revealed you[g](FB) to those whom you gave me(FC) out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word. Now they know that everything you have given me comes from you. For I gave them the words you gave me(FD) and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you,(FE) and they believed that you sent me.(FF) I pray for them.(FG) I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me,(FH) for they are yours. 10 All I have is yours, and all you have is mine.(FI) And glory has come to me through them. 11 I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world,(FJ) and I am coming to you.(FK) Holy Father, protect them by the power of[h] your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one(FL) as we are one.(FM) 12 While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by[i] that name you gave me. None has been lost(FN) except the one doomed to destruction(FO) so that Scripture would be fulfilled.(FP)

13 “I am coming to you now,(FQ) but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy(FR) within them. 14 I have given them your word and the world has hated them,(FS) for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world.(FT) 15 My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.(FU) 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.(FV) 17 Sanctify them by[j] the truth; your word is truth.(FW) 18 As you sent me into the world,(FX) I have sent them into the world.(FY) 19 For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.(FZ)

Jesus Prays for All Believers

20 “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them may be one,(GA) Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.(GB) May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.(GC) 22 I have given them the glory that you gave me,(GD) that they may be one as we are one(GE) 23 I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me(GF) and have loved them(GG) even as you have loved me.

24 “Father, I want those you have given me(GH) to be with me where I am,(GI) and to see my glory,(GJ) the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.(GK)

25 “Righteous Father, though the world does not know you,(GL) I know you, and they know that you have sent me.(GM) 26 I have made you[k] known to them,(GN) and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them(GO) and that I myself may be in them.”
