John 5:34-36

34 It is not that I ·need [accept; depend on] ·what humans say [human testimony/witness]; I tell you this so you can be saved. 35 John was like a burning and shining lamp, and you were ·happy to enjoy [L willing to rejoice in] his light for a while.
36 “But I have a ·proof [testimony; witness] about myself that is ·greater [weightier] than that of John. [L For] The ·things [L works] I do, which are the ·things [L works] my Father gave me to ·do [complete; finish; C the signs and miracles which point to his saving work on the cross], ·prove [testify; witness] that the Father sent me.

New International Version
34 Not that I accept human testimony;(A) but I mention it that you may be saved.(B) 35 John was a lamp that burned and gave light,(C) and you chose for a time to enjoy his light.
36 “I have testimony weightier than that of John.(D) For the works that the Father has given me to finish—the very works that I am doing(E)—testify that the Father has sent me.(F)
