34 But I receive not the record of man: nevertheless these things I say, that ye might be saved.
35 He was a burning and a shining candle: and ye would for [a]a season have rejoiced in his light.
36 But I have greater witness than the witness of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father sent me.

34 Not that I accept human testimony;(A) but I mention it that you may be saved.(B) 35 John was a lamp that burned and gave light,(C) and you chose for a time to enjoy his light.
36 “I have testimony weightier than that of John.(D) For the works that the Father has given me to finish—the very works that I am doing(E)—testify that the Father has sent me.(F)
