34 But I don’t need a man to tell about me. I tell you this so that you can be saved. 35 John was like a burning and shining lamp. And you were happy to enjoy his light for a while.
36 “But I have a proof about myself that is greater than that of John. The things I do are my proof. These are the things my Father gave me to do. They show that the Father sent me.

34 Not that I accept human testimony;(A) but I mention it that you may be saved.(B) 35 John was a lamp that burned and gave light,(C) and you chose for a time to enjoy his light.
36 “I have testimony weightier than that of John.(D) For the works that the Father has given me to finish—the very works that I am doing(E)—testify that the Father has sent me.(F)
