11 Take good heed therefore unto [a]yourselves, that ye love the Lord your God.
12 Else, if ye go back, and cleave unto the rest of these nations: that is, of them that remain with you, and shall [b]make marriages with them, and [c]go unto them, and they to you,
13 Know ye for certain, that the Lord your God will cast out no more of these nations from before you: (A)but they shall be a snare and destruction unto you, and a whip on your sides, and thorns in your [d]eyes, until ye perish out of this good land, which the Lord your God hath given you.

11 So be very careful(A) to love the Lord(B) your God.
12 “But if you turn away and ally yourselves with the survivors of these nations that remain among you and if you intermarry with them(C) and associate with them,(D) 13 then you may be sure that the Lord your God will no longer drive out(E) these nations before you. Instead, they will become snares(F) and traps for you, whips on your backs and thorns in your eyes,(G) until you perish from this good land,(H) which the Lord your God has given you.
