Judges 2:14-16
New American Standard Bible
14 (A)Then the anger of the Lord burned against Israel, and He handed them over to plunderers, and they plundered them; and (B)He sold them into the hands of their enemies around them, so that they could no longer stand [a]against their enemies. 15 Wherever they went, the hand of the Lord was against them for [b]evil, as the Lord had spoken and (C)just as the Lord had sworn to them, so that they were severely distressed.
16 (D)Then the Lord raised up judges [c]who saved them from the hands of those who plundered them.

9 But (A)they forgot the Lord their God, so (B)He sold them into the hand of Sisera, commander of the army of Hazor, and (C)into the hand of the Philistines, and (D)into the hand of the king of Moab, and they fought against them. 10 (E)They cried out to the Lord and said, ‘We have sinned, because we have abandoned the Lord and have served (F)the Baals and the Ashtaroth; but (G)now save us from the hands of our enemies, and we will serve You.’ 11 Then the Lord sent (H)Jerubbaal, [a](I)Bedan, (J)Jephthah, and (K)Samuel, and saved you from the hands of your enemies all around, so that you lived in security.
