¹⁰ And ^(A)the Spirit of the Lord came upon him, and he judged Israel. When he went to war, the Lord handed over to him Cushan-rishathaim king of ^[a]Mesopotamia, so that ^[b]he prevailed over Cushan-rishathaim.

³⁴ So ^(A)the Spirit of the Lord ^[a]covered Gideon like clothing; and he ^(B)blew a trumpet, and the Abiezrites were called together to follow him.

Jephthah’s Tragic Vow

²⁹ Now ^(A)the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jephthah, and he passed through Gilead and Manasseh; then he passed through Mizpah of Gilead, and from Mizpah of Gilead he went on to the sons of Ammon.
