34 “Go away! What do you want with us,(A) Jesus of Nazareth?(B) Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are(C)—the Holy One of God!”(D)

35 “Be quiet!” Jesus said sternly.(E) “Come out of him!” Then the demon threw the man down before them all and came out without injuring him.

36 All the people were amazed(F) and said to each other, “What words these are! With authority(G) and power he gives orders to impure spirits and they come out!” 37 And the news about him spread throughout the surrounding area.(H)

Jesus Heals Many(I)(J)

38 Jesus left the synagogue and went to the home of Simon. Now Simon’s mother-in-law was suffering from a high fever, and they asked Jesus to help her. 39 So he bent over her and rebuked(K) the fever, and it left her. She got up at once and began to wait on them.

40 At sunset, the people brought to Jesus all who had various kinds of sickness, and laying his hands on each one,(L) he healed them.(M) 41 Moreover, demons came out of many people, shouting, “You are the Son of God!”(N) But he rebuked(O) them and would not allow them to speak,(P) because they knew he was the Messiah.

40 (H)When the sun was setting, all those who had any that were sick with various diseases brought them to Him; and He laid His hands on every one of them and healed them. 41 (I)And demons also came out of many, crying out and saying, (J)“You are [c]the Christ, the Son of God!”

And He, (K)rebuking them, did not allow them to [d]speak, for they knew that He was the Christ.
