²⁶ “You are not to eat anything with blood in it.^[a](A) You are not to practice divination^(B) or sorcery.^(C)

³¹ “Do not turn to mediums^[a](A) or consult spiritists,^[b](B) or you will be defiled by them; I am Yahweh your God.

¹⁰ No one among you is to make his son or daughter pass through the fire,^[a](A) practice divination, tell fortunes, interpret omens, practice sorcery, ¹¹ cast spells, consult a medium or a familiar spirit, or inquire of the dead.^{(B) 12} Everyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord, and the Lord your God is driving out the nations before you because of these detestable things.

²⁴ In addition, Josiah removed the mediums, the spiritists,^(A) household idols,^(B) images, and all the detestable things^(C) that were seen in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem. He did this in order to carry out the words of the law that were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest found in the Lord’s temple.^(D)
