If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them;

12 I will walk(A) among you and be your God,(B) and you will be my people.(C) 13 I am the Lord your God,(D) who brought you out of Egypt(E) so that you would no longer be slaves to the Egyptians; I broke the bars of your yoke(F) and enabled you to walk with heads held high.

Punishment for Disobedience

14 “‘But if you will not listen to me and carry out all these commands,(G) 15 and if you reject my decrees and abhor my laws(H) and fail to carry out all my commands and so violate my covenant,(I) 16 then I will do this to you: I will bring on you sudden terror, wasting diseases and fever(J) that will destroy your sight and sap your strength.(K) You will plant seed in vain, because your enemies will eat it.(L)

13 I am the Lord your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that ye should not be their bondmen; and I have broken the bands of your yoke, and made you go upright.

14 But if ye will not hearken unto me, and will not do all these commandments;

15 And if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant:

16 I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.
