³⁹ And those of you who are left shall ^(A)rot away in your enemies' lands because of their iniquity, and also because of the iniquities of their fathers they shall rot away like them.

⁴⁰ “But if ^(B)they confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their fathers in their treachery that they ^(C)committed against me, and also in walking contrary to me, ⁴¹ so that I walked contrary to them and brought them into the land of their enemies—if then their ^(D)uncircumcised heart is ^(E)humbled and they make amends for their iniquity, ⁴² then I will ^(F)remember my covenant with Jacob, and I will remember my covenant with Isaac and my covenant with Abraham, and I will ^(G)remember the land.

^29 (A)But from there you will seek the Lord your God and you will find him, if you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul. ³⁰ When you are in tribulation, and all these things come upon you ^(B)in the latter days, you will return to the Lord your God and obey his voice. ³¹ For the Lord your God is ^(C)a merciful God. ^(D)He will not leave you or destroy you or forget the covenant with your fathers that he swore to them.

² and ^(A)return to the Lord your God, you and your children, and obey his voice in all that I command you today, with all your heart and with all your soul, ³ then the Lord your God ^(B)will restore your fortunes and have mercy on you, and he will ^(C)gather you again from all the peoples where the Lord your God has scattered you.
