⁴³ For the land will be deserted^(A) by them and will enjoy its sabbaths while it lies desolate without them. They will pay for their sins because they rejected^(B) my laws and abhorred my decrees.^{(C) 44} Yet in spite of this, when they are in the land of their enemies,^(D) I will not reject them or abhor^(E) them so as to destroy them completely,^(F) breaking my covenant^(G) with them. I am the Lord their God. ⁴⁵ But for their sake I will remember^(H) the covenant with their ancestors whom I brought out of Egypt^(I) in the sight of the nations to be their God. I am the Lord.’”

Prosperity After Turning to the Lord

30 When all these blessings and curses^(A) I have set before you come on you and you take them to heart wherever the Lord your God disperses you among the nations,^{(B) 2} and when you and your children return^(C) to the Lord your God and obey him with all your heart^(D) and with all your soul according to everything I command you today, ³ then the Lord your God will restore your fortunes^[a](E) and have compassion^(F) on you and gather^(G) you again from all the nations where he scattered^(H) you.^(I)
