Luke 1:27-29

²⁷to ^(A)a virgin ^[a]engaged to a man whose name was Joseph, ^(B)of the ^[b]descendants of David; and the virgin’s name was ^[c]Mary. ²⁸And coming in, he said to her, “Greetings, ^[d]favored one! The Lord ^[e]is with you.” ²⁹But she ^(C)was very perplexed at this statement, and kept pondering what kind of salutation this was.

²⁷to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph,^(A) a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. ²⁸The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.”

²⁹Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be.
