⁴⁹ For this reason also ^(A)the wisdom of God said, ‘^(B)I will send to them prophets and apostles, and some of them they will kill and some they will ^[a]persecute,

Barnabas and Saul Sent from Antioch by the Holy Spirit

13 Now there were at ^(A)Antioch, in the ^(B)church that was there, ^(C)prophets and ^(D)teachers: ^(E)Barnabas, and Simeon who was called Niger, and Lucius of ^(F)Cyrene, and Manaen who had been brought up with ^(G)Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

¹⁰ and to another the workings of ^(A)miracles, and to another ^(B)prophecy, and to another the ^[a](C)distinguishing of spirits, to someone else various ^(D)kinds of tongues, and to another the ^[b](E)translation of tongues.

²⁸ And God has ^[a](A)appointed in ^(B)the church, first ^(C)apostles, second ^(D)prophets, third ^(E)teachers, then ^[b](F)miracles, then ^(G)gifts of healings, helps, ^(H)administrations, various ^(I)kinds of tongues. ²⁹ Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of ^[c]miracles? ³⁰ Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all ^[d](J)translate? ³¹ But ^[e]you ^(K)earnestly desire the greater gifts.
