Faith and Duty^(A)

⁵And the apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.”

⁶^(B)So the Lord said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you. ⁷And which of you, having a servant plowing or tending sheep, will say to him when he has come in from the field, ‘Come at once and sit down to eat’?

⁶He replied, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed,^(C) you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you.^(D)

⁷“Suppose one of you has a servant plowing or looking after the sheep. Will he say to the servant when he comes in from the field, ‘Come along now and sit down to eat’?
