12 But Peter ran to the tomb. When he bent over to look inside, he saw only the linen cloth. Then he returned home, wondering what had happened.

13 On that same day, two disciples were traveling to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem. 14 They were talking to each other about everything that had happened.

12 Peter, however, got up and ran to the tomb. Bending over, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves,(A) and he went away,(B) wondering to himself what had happened.
