12 But Peter got up and ran to the tomb to see. He looked in, but he saw only the cloth that Jesus’ body had been wrapped in. It was just lying there. Peter went away to be alone, wondering what had happened.[a]

13 That same day two of Jesus’ followers were going to a town named Emmaus. It is about seven miles[b] from Jerusalem. 14 They were talking about everything that had happened.

New International Version
12 Peter, however, got up and ran to the tomb. Bending over, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves,(A) and he went away,(B) wondering to himself what had happened.

13 Now that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles[a] from Jerusalem.(C) 14 They were talking with each other about everything that had happened.
