6 and said to him, “To you (A)I will give all this authority and their glory, (B)for it has been delivered to me, and I give it to whom I will. 7 If you, then, will worship me, it will all be yours.” 8 And Jesus answered him, (C)“It is written,
9 (F)And he took him to Jerusalem and set him on the pinnacle of the temple and said to him, “If you are (G)the Son of God, throw yourself down from here, 10 for it is written,
(H)“‘He will command his angels concerning you,
to guard you,’
11 and
(I)“‘On their hands they will bear you up,
lest you strike your foot against a stone.’”
12 And Jesus answered him, “It is said, (J)‘You shall not (K)put the Lord your God to the test.’”

6 And he said to him, “I will give you all their authority and splendor; it has been given to me,(A) and I can give it to anyone I want to. 7 If you worship me, it will all be yours.”
8 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.’[a]”(B)
9 The devil led him to Jerusalem and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down from here. 10 For it is written:
“‘He will command his angels concerning you
to guard you carefully;
11 they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’[b]”(C)
12 Jesus answered, “It is said: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’[c]”(D)
