18 Pray(A) it[a] won’t happen in winter. 19 For those will be days of tribulation,(B) the kind that hasn’t been from the beginning(C) of the world,[b](D) which God created, until now and never will be again! 20 Unless the Lord(E) limited those days,(F) no one would survive.[c] But He limited those days because of the elect,(G) whom He chose.(H)

18 Pray that this will not take place in winter, 19 because those will be days of distress unequaled from the beginning, when God created the world,(A) until now—and never to be equaled again.(B)
20 “If the Lord had not cut short those days, no one would survive. But for the sake of the elect, whom he has chosen, he has shortened them.
