⁵ And when Jesus ^(A)saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Son, ^(B)your sins are forgiven.” ⁶ Now some of the scribes were sitting there, questioning in their hearts, ⁷ “Why does this man speak like that? ^(C)He is blaspheming! ^(D)Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

⁴⁸ And he said to her, ^(A)“Your sins are forgiven.” ⁴⁹ Then those who were at table with him began to say among^[a] themselves, ^(B)“Who is this, who even forgives sins?” ⁵⁰ And he said to the woman, ^(C)“Your faith has saved you; ^(D)go in peace.”

⁵ For which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Rise and walk’? ⁶ But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—he then said to the paralytic—“Rise, pick up your bed and go home.” ⁷ And he rose and went home.
